STRATEGIC TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE NATIONAL WATER RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The objectives of the work are to strengthen the ability for developing and managing the process for the implementation of the national water resources policy in Mozambique and to reinforce and rehabilitate the Corumana dam, with a view to contributing to strengthen the water supply system in the Greater Maputo metropolitan area. The project includes four specific components (in particular, water resource management, construction works and electromechanical equipment for the Corumana Dam, environmental and social components of the Corumana dam and water resource development) through which all required activities will be developed.  Strategic Technical Assistance services include the mobilisation of multidisciplinary specialists on either a permanent or occasional basis, and include consulting and advisory tasks as well as the production of service deliverables for specific matters. These works are provided not only directly to DNA, but also to the five ARAs and other agencies and beneficiaries integrated into the DNA structure.

The scope of services includes strategic technical assistance and multidisciplinary technical support provided by a resident team of three expert technicians integrated into the DNA structure in Maputo. It also includes a pool of consultants made up of 16 expert technicians with specific and diversified skills and qualifications who are mobilised on an on-demand basis.
