The Uige Sanitary Landfill is a complex installation located in an area of more than 19 ha, and 7.5 h being the area occupied by the cell for storage of waste. The landfill has the capacity to serve about 1,000,000 inhabitants, of the localities of Uige and Songo. The landfill project also includes support facilities, namely: compression building and baling waste, building covered for parking and maintenance equipment, farm building, concierge, automatic rotated washing unit, two scales for weighing trucks, deposit with booster for drinking water supply and central fire-fighting, a car park and a transformer substation. The project took into account all environmental and social aspects required by the National Legislation and Community Directives.
The contract included the Final Design and Environmental Impact Study, including the social component, of the Landfill.
