Fátima Road Tunnel

- Cut & Cover tunnel about 500 m long and 10 m deep, embedded in a slightly changed rock massif, characteristic of an area known for the exploitation of ornamental rocks.

For this reason, the architectural design took advantage of excavation sides, which remained visible. Therefore, we designed a portico structure in the cross-sectional direction, characterised by two column lines on both sides of the road supporting a ribbed slab. The small ratio between the end spans and mid span allowed taking advantage of the cantilever effect, releasing the crown of the rocky slopes from an effective support function.

Preliminary design and detailed design of tunnel foundations and structures. Services also included project review and technical assistance.
