Montijo Airport

The Montijo Airport project, which will work in combination with the current Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon, aims to transform part of an air base into a civil airport. The overall project includes all infrastructures on the air and land side, as well as the access road to the airport, about 1.5 km long.

The airport is expected to start operating in 2022 with about 4.5M passengers, but the project is expected to accommodate an expansion to about 7M/year.

The project contracted from Quadrante, in consortium with Mott MacDonald Aviation, includes all air side, terminal and remaining support buildings (control tower, fire department, technical buildings). The architectural concept project was developed by HTAL, and MMConcept collaborated with Quadrante in the architectural Preliminary Design.

The Project was developed in BIM in an integrated and coordinated manner.
